Question for Domain Name Server setup?

Hi,

I already buy a domain name.I have a computer with the windows 2000.the computer always is online with cable so the pc  have a static IP .

How to set up the computer with DNS server?so the browser can go to my compuetr when you visit the domain name?

The question is how to set up DNS server in my home computer and how to add my domain name to my DNS server in windows 2000 system

Please give me some URLs about this.Thanks.

I think you need your ISP's help. They need to put your domain name in their DNS. I don't know the details though.

Yes, you need to setup a dns record.

Where is your domain name now? when you buy your domain name from onlinenic or verisign, you can have a default DNS server, maybe  dns.verisign.com , and you can use the control panel in the website to control it.

Or, you must find a DNS server (pay for it) and ask to add a DNS record including your ip address, and then change DNS server in your domain name record.
