In Canada, there's a gifted program for those students who is able to learn more than the same aged kids, those progarms are available in one of the schools in the district, start from primary to high school,  but need to pass the entering exam including written and oral.
This program is part of the special enducation in Canada, in those years that the education budget was good, even the students in high school could get the free bus tickets to go to school every day.
