加拿大华人“抢房”:感觉像在国内买白菜

I went to visit a new construction sales centre last week. I met a new immigrant from china. He bought a house over $1 million from phase 1 four months ago on assignment. Phase 1 is sold out. He is now waiting for phase 2 to open because he wants to reserve new houses for ten of his friends and family, who are going to immigrate in the next couple of years. He have cash in hand to make the deposit for each of them. They will come when balance is due and pay cash. No mortgage. They all prefer to buy new houses.
How do you compete with these people? as long as we accept immigrants, prices will go up.

Over 70% of people walking through new construction sales offices in Aurora / Newmarket are Asian (at least from my accounts). Everyone lives in East Egg.

When I sold my home in RH, 90% of the showings and all the offers came from Chinese people. But I 'm pretty sure they were all Canadian citizens who have lived here for a long time, and also were stretching to make the purchase. I only point that out because you hear stories of buyers coming over from China with tons of money and buying up houses right away, or even buying remotely through agents or relatives. I think that gets exaggerated.
