fg, I love you.
You are super smart, and you know Canada very well.
1. These guys were referred by the agent to Sears. If their job is casual temporary, the agent is their boss, not Sears. The agent got a cut of their salary, and they could be told to leave anytime the agent wants. If their job is permanent, Sears is their boss but they still had to go through the probation. They have worked there for a few days, so either the agent or Sears could terminate them with or without just cause, because they were still in probation.
2. These guy saw them as supermen. In their perception, everyone was lazy and incompetent. In the business world and even in the government, anyone fails to meet the bench marks will be terminated in order to cut cost.
3. Fairness???? Who told you the workplace is a fair place? Employers give you a job to expect maximum contribution from you and everyone.
that's a good enough reason for termination. In a workplace, such a behaviour is too aggressive for any tolerance.
5. Protest. Fine, but not within Sears property.
6. Employment Standards Act. An employer has the rights to terminate a staff on probation or a casual staff hired by an agent. Period. |
